winIDEA with XCP

08-Sep-2023

XCP can be used with winIDEA as a:

  • winIDEA XCP Slave Plugin or
  • winIDEA XCP Master.

winIDEA XCP Slave Plugin

Master applications (e.g., Vector CANoe, CANape) can communicate via an XCP protocol with winIDEA and/or BlueBox. All supported microcontrollers can be handled by the XCP plugin.

Features are:

  • Synchronous data acquisition (DAQ)
  • Direct memory access (Polling)
  • Online memory calibration (read/write access)
  • Time-stamped data transfer, generation of event timestamps by the ECU/Emulator
  • Trace-to-XCP bridge
  • A2L File Generation

winIDEA XCP Master

winIDEA communicates via XCP protocol with Plug-on Device (POD) by the measurement/calibration (MC) tool vendor (or from any provider that implements an XCP Slave according to the standard). The POD connects via a debug interface (e.g., DAP, JTAG) to the target ECU. The communication between the host computer and POD is performed via XCP over Ethernet. Almost all winIDEA features are provided in a similar winIDEA configuration (debug, flash, on-chip trace, etc.). Supported microcontrollers are Infineon AURIX TC2xx, TC3xx, and Power Architecture MPC5xxx.
