Arm VX-toolset: Integrating NXP S32 Design Studio

S32 Design Studio (S32DS) is one of the IDEs we support, allowing you to integrate winIDEA’s debugging capabilities into your development workflow.

Solution

1. Install

• VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1
• S32 v3.6.0.

2. Start S32DS.

3. Select Help | Install New Software.

4. Click Manage button to open the Preferences dialog.

5. Click Add in the Available Software Sites and add a new site, e.g. TASKING VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1.

6. Click Archive and select the eclipse repository for TASKING VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1 product “eclipse_Arm_v7.1r1.zip” located at: ”C:\Program Files\TASKING\Arm v7.1r1\eclipse_p2_repository”

7. Close the Preferences dialog via Apply and Close.

8. Select the new site as the site to Work with. “TASKING Tools” is displayed as a name.

9. Check “TASKING Tools” and click Next and Finish to start the installation.

10. Select restart S32DS when asked for it.

11. Select Window | Preferences |TASKING | Arm page.

12. Specify the TASKING VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1 Product directory: “C:\Program Files\TASKING\Arm v7.1r1\carm”

13. Close the Preferences dialog via Apply and Close.

The TASKING VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1 is now integrated in S32DS.

You can now create TASKING project inside S32DS and build it with TASKING VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1.
