LDRA Test tools: Updating the Environment Variable

24-Jun-2026

The location of the License Server is defined by the LDRA_LICENSE_FILE environment variable.

Windows

To update the environment variable:

  • Open Control Panel and search for Environment Variables, or
  • Open System Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables.

Locate the LDRA_LICENSE_FILE variable and update it as required.

Windows also stores environment variable values in the registry. Removing a variable through the Environment Variables dialog may not remove all stored values. To completely remove old entries, the Registry Editor may also need to be used. See Slow responses from license server for more information.

Linux

To update the environment variable, edit the following file:

/home/<user>/.flexlmrc

Update the LDRA_LICENSE_FILE entry with the required license server information and save the file.
