Infineon TriCore: DAP/DAPE configuration issues

10-Nov-2025

Possible issues and solutions

DAP/DAPE connector misconfiguration
  • In case the target has a DAP/DAPE connector without a notch (keying shroud), make sure you properly orient the connector. Pin 1 from the Active Probe must align with the pin 1 from the target.
  • Make sure that signals on the target connector are not mirrored. Check the  Hardware User Manual to see which signals are assigned to each pin.

DAP/DAPE cable misconfiguration

Make sure:

  • DAP cable (Active Probe) is connected to DAP connector (Target)
  • (optional) DAPE cable (Active Probe) is connected to DAPE connector (Target)

DAP/DAPE winIDEA misconfiguration
  • Refer to Infineon’s documentation and check which Debug Mode (Standard, Wide) is supported on your target.
  • Make sure to select the supported Debug channel Mode (DAP Wide / Standard) via Hardware | CPU Options | SoC.

DAP and DAPE on TC4x devices share one pin, thus DAP Wide cannot be used on both at the same time.
